Welcome to Woollaston Estates where the art of winemaking is celebrated every day. One of New Zealand's most sophisticated winery developments, Woollaston Estates was officially opened in 2006. The 18-metre high, four-level winery is built into the hillside and blends into the environment with its tussock covered roof. The top three levels are dedicated to winemaking while the bottom level contains wine aging in barrels, the bottling line, wine library and The Cellars – a large hall which doubles as a winery working area and as a function room for concerts and dinners. The winery complex is a beautiful place to visit, and is home to a growing and significant collection of art heralded by the bold Yantra for Mahana sculpture by Marté Szirmay at the gateway. The Gallery at Woollaston hosts a changing programme of contemporary, evocative and stimulating exhibitions by national and international artists. We look forward to welcoming you at Woollaston Estates to sample the fruits of our labour. |
